2009 with full BMW service history and 75k on the clock.

Recently bought and cleaning it oday noticed this bubbling.

Will BMW replace this metal strip?

Same problem here on an 08 car. Tried at the dealer but rejected by bmw as although corroded, it hadnt perforated.

This trim is aluminium and easy to remove so will have a go myself I think.

This has been talked about a lot on many forums. Unfortunately it is not covered and BMW pretty much reject every claim to replace it.

OK so no warranty claim.

What's the best way to resolve it?...that bit of trim goes all the way down the length of the car.

Could a decent bodyshop sort it?...

Perks of living in Arizona, where rust is pretty much nonexistent
