2011 LCI 335i: Issue with conecting iPhone 7 on Bluetooth
Hi everyone,
I have a 2011 LCI 335i and I'm trying to connect my iPhone 7 on my car's Bluetooth but on the BMW screen, I can see the number to enter the code, but on my cellphone, it continue to trying to connect... and then Fail. I had a 2012 X5 and it is working with my iPhone 7.... it's weird because it's the same iPhone I have and BMW X5 and BMW 335i should have the same Bluetooth system?! Should I update the BMW system? Thank you for the help..

Try the following:
Delete ALL previously paired phones in the vehicle's iDrive or Radio Headunit-including your own. Delete your vehicle or choose "forget this device," in your iPhone Ensure that your iPhone is up to date in terms of software version (iOS 10.3.1 was just rolled out) Perform a hard reset on your iPhone. (Side wake button and down lower volume button at the same time until the screen blanks out. Then re-power up) Try to re-pair your phone to your vehicle after doing all this. I have found that 9/10 times the hand held device is the issue. For some reason the phone hangs on the connection sequence and therefore pairing becomes "Unsuccessful." Try this and let us know where you get. HTH |

I deleted all phone registred in the vehicule. Make a hard reset or reboot on my cellphone. My OS is up to date at 10.3.1 And same thing, I can détect the BMW Handsfree, but cannot Enter Code on my phone... How to eliminate all memory of the car's bluetooth and perform a full shutdown and startup of vehicule device? (stop and restart the car?)

I was thinking you would simply delete all paired phones in iDrive and then turn off the car completely (engine off, lights off, key fob removed). Beyond that, I'm not sure what else you could try...

Should I go to BMW dealer for that? Maybe the iDrive need an update system?

On the PHONE, you need to tell it to forget the car under the Bluetooth settings. Not just reboot the phone. I had this happen recently and until I did that step, I could not get the phone to pair with my vehicle. |

I cannot tell the phone to forget the car under the Bluetooth settings, because the phone never connected on this car... (my Bluetooth list on the Phone is empty).

Have your phone BT off. Turn on car BT settings first. Then switch the phone's BT setting to on. See if that will pair it. I tried all sorts of steps, but phone off finally worked
