Removing roof molding / clips

My roof molding is lifting up at one end and want to replace the clips, but I have no idea how these clips work and how to remove the molding without destroying it.

Anyone know how to do it?

It's the molding along the sides that has the roof rack anchors in it.

Realoem only shows one type of clip, so I hope there's no surprises when I get it off.

How much force did you have to use to lift it off?

And just FYI, not all the clips are the same. At least on an '09 E92 they aren't. The black, white and blue clips are all different and fit in different sections on the moulding.
Yep. I broke off a lot of the tabs on my clips as well when I wrapped my roof, but the rails still hold well. Some of the clips are even completely broken. Lol. Thought about replacing the broken ones, but those suckers are over $5 a pop! And yes, there are different colored ones, which I assume have different part numbers.

Mine appears to have 6 of the black clips in the picture of the first post. I think they were used from 06 to 08.

I managed to get the rear two clips loose. The rear was already broken loose. The second broken without much force. I couldn't remove them from the molding with only a half inch or so lifted up, but I was able to slide them along the molding out of the way. I then put two new clips in the normal positions and snapped it back in place.
