Which is 'ignition position' on the push-start system?

hi all

can someone please clarify which is considered the 'ignition' position when you have the push-start comfort-access system?

I've seen reference to using the 'ignition' position, eg when flashing transmission, or clearing the transmission adaptation..

On the comfort-access keyless start, is that the first push of the button (without pressing brake pedal); or the 2nd push (when all the warning lights illuminate)?

I've always assumed it was the second push, but read somewhere that you have to hold the button for >2 seconds to get the ignition position....which implies the first position...

thanks

Insert the keyfob into the dash slot, then push the start button without having your foot on the brake (auomatic trans) or without your foot on the clutch (manual trans).

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

I never insert the keyfob as it's a comfort-access, so woudl it still be the first push of the button, or the second (when all the warning lights come on?)

cheers

Ignition on position is the 2nd press on comfort access cars, it's when all the lights on your dash light up. I believe holding for ~2 seconds accomplishes the same thing.
