I strongly suggest you dont waste your money on a catback. for the same money you can get just as good of a sound and exponentially better gains by investing in a downpipe + tune.

if it is still too quiet for your taste, then delete your secondary cats and upgrade the axle-back. BMW's OEM exhaust flows and sounds good dont waste your money on replacing something thats good to begin with.

If you're willing to spend a few extra $ don't waste your time deleting cats, mufflers, etc. Performance difference is negligible either way. The VRSF exhaust will probably give you the sound you're looking for, and more importantly, you lose 40 lbs of extra weight.

Performance wise I am where I want to be car rips. Just looking for a decent sound now. Problem is the XI (awd) exhaust is different vs the 335I and I cannot find the VRSF XI exhaust...

if you have money to throw at your car then it is totally understandable. but even people that do have excess money may have trouble justifying whether it is worth replacing something that is already good from the factory to begin with.

a downpipe, ecu tune, secondary cat delete and axle-back upgrade could possibly be one of the most cost effective solution to getting good sound AND power.

if you have money to throw that is one thing, but no matter how rich you are a downpipe + ECU tune should always be prioritized over a full catback. it will cost less if not more, but the performance gains will be exponentially higher then just the exhaust system while still sounding great.

I heard the v2 exhausts do require modification for XI... the v1s didn't require modification but if you were lowered they scraped... Because i didn't want to spend $ on an exhaust and have it modified I just went with Catless downpipes + bmw performance exhaust with secondary cats in place and the car sounds great... I've been complemented multiple times by strangers even waved down by people driving by asking what I did and how great the car sounds...

If you were paying attention he's FBO already, DP's, tune, etc.

The only difference between a axle back and a cat back is a couple sections of straight pipe and with the VRSF it's a single section. The cost of the VRSF is comparable or less than most axle back systems out there, especially a PE. Personally I don't get the fascination with exhaust systems and their note but that's just me. Any 335i with DP's will sound good enough to me. I happen to have a 335is so it's a little better than the average 335i but there's way more meaningful upgrades for $750 that I'd do but that's not what the OP asked about.

I just searched "secondary cat delete" and guess what popped up 2400+ times. Lol
