2A37 - Valvetronic eccentric shaft sensor
Woke up the other night got car wouldn't start. No signs at all the previous night.
Got three codes 2A37 - Valvetronic, eccentric shaft sensor: plausibility 2A38 - Valvetronic, monitoring, sluggish movement 2A43 - Valvetronic, thermal overload protection: warning threshold This is on my 2011 328xi. It seems like a common problem. I had the same problem with the eccentric shaft sensor on my 2007 328i as well. My CPO warranty went out two weeks ago to so I'm footing the bill on this one. I know it's an extensive job. Towed it to my mechanic already to get it fixed. Anyone else having the same problem with the E90? |

The Eccentric Shaft Sensor with the valve cover kit is around $400 USD with 3hr labor. Should be just under $1000 after taxes and Canadian conversion for the parts. Hope I don't get the problem again though.
