installed 3-stage manifold, now CEL
I'm getting P0440 (small evap leak) and P13B6 (manufacturer specific) codes after a 3-stage intake manifold install. I'm pretty sure I didn't leave anything disconnected, but I'll go back and re-check everything again. Torqued the manifold to the head, and torqued the throttle to the manifold per specs.
Any ideas what I should look at first? Or is my best bet to just hook up the d-can/icom and read codes with the bmw tools, instead of a generic code reader (have to find them, been missing since I moved)? |

I had similar issue as you with P0440
I checked whole manifold and find nothing. Unplugged all the hoses and wires. Check engine lights came off. It's hard to say what cause that problem. Try to do same way as I did. |

Yeah I used a new crankcase breather hose (though I didn't crack the old one when taking it off, so I still have it in case i make a mistake when re-checking).
Used new intake gaskets too... Yeah I think that's what I'll be doing... pull the real codes with the dcan, then unless it is obvious, I'll just disconnect and reconnect everything again. Once I get over this darn cold... |

yeah if you still have a vacuum leak then you'll get hesitation on acceleration.
you might not have a full seal on one of the intake gaskets, so 5 of 6 cylinders are getting the right amount of fuel/air and one isn't, hence the shaking. I had shaking on acceleration when one of my ignition coils had fried. Sounds like you and I are in a similar boat, though my car runs like a top and is throwing codes, while yours is shaking but not throwing codes... pull the intake again, make sure the boots are all seated properly, and re-torque following an alternating tightening pattern. I'm going to try a different tightening pattern, and last time I torqued each bolt all the way each time... I'm going to go about half way for each (bolt 3, then 5, then 1, then 7, then 2, then 6, then 4) then i'll repeat the sequence at full torque. |

Could be something simple as loose gas cap to something like the fuel vent valve needing to be replaced.
