M performance spoiler fit
I had my body shop put on the rear lip spoiler and it looks great but sides like extreme sides look like they aren't completely flush. Is that normal?

I had to make sure to put 3m all the way to the end. i then taped the very end of the spoiler down so it had pressure on it for 12+ hours. i also when applying it pressed down pretty hard to get a good bond on the ends.

definitely not normal, but you dont have to press it down for 12 hours unless you are using beta-link (which i highly recommend not using!). Now I got my OEM CF spoiler for a bargain, 3m taped it and pushed down across the spoiler, but there are cracks now in the resin clear coat so be careful when you apply. I have to paint the top now or fade to CF if the shop can do it

Here's my MPerf Spoiler on my F32 - tight as a drum, been installed for 2 yrs now.
I didn't use any tape/weight to hold it down, used the factory applied 3M Tape ONLY, 3M Adhesion promoter on the trunk lid in area of attach, let car + spoiler set out in hot sun for a couple hrs, marked center of trunk lid/spoiler with grease pencil so as to be able to get spoiler located fairly accurately b4 setting it down (once that tape hits it's not coming back up ) Once down, I just pressed down & along spoiler firmly with my hand & micro towel several times to make sure it was good and tight

What do you mean 'edge of trunk' the OA length of the spoiler is slightly shorter than the width of the trunk = the small gap on either end of spoiler to the edge of trunk lid The spoiler IS mounted along the correct body line edge across the trunk width as shown in pic #1. It is mounted correctly for F32 trunk. The edge of the trunk on F32 kicks down from the main surface a bit before it wraps down to rear face of trunk. OEM spoiler could never mount any other way - follows the body line at kick down perfectly I just don't have a pic that shows the entire spoiler from rear as it follows the body line

I work at a BMW dealership. So I've actually seen and driven an F32 or two. And yes, I know there's a small gap at the edge. It seems to be a trait. I've had spoilers on my E90 and both F30s I've owned. They all do the same thing no matter what car. The ones that I've seen with spoilers had them at the back edge of the trunk along the center and the edges do turn in. They definitely don't go edge to edge. It's that way on all the sedans and coupes. I've seen some people do some stupid things to their cars. It's their car. Let them do it. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. It just looked weird in the pictures.

No hurt feelings here
He asked for closeups of the fit to trunk so pics do look a leetle strange at the ends. Hard to believe anyone would not know proper way of install - the factory spoiler follows the rear crease perfectly
