2008 335i Aux Port issue

Hello everyone. So I've got a new issue. Luckily it's been a while since I've had one. So this one as I'm finding out is a common issue amongst most of us, the Aux Port in the center console has fallen in. I have retrieved it and am still about to use it, however over the past week the audio has started to crackle and distort. I figured it could be the aux power cable underneath it so I made sure it was plugged in tight and it was, so then I figured it was the Aux cable I was using so I went and bought a new one and it still had the same issue. So now I'm wanting to try buying a new one from online, but after searching I've found new ones from BMW for $35 for just the standard Aux Cable plug, I've also found the adapter with the Aux Cable plug and a USB plug for charging. My question to you fellow E90 owners that may have done this before is can my 2008 335i use that Aux Cable and USB combo port? Also, keep in mind that I am not able to sync my phone via Bluetooth since my car does not have that feature other than using it for talking on the phone. I know it requires the power plug in the bottom of it and I don't know if I have that inside my center console or not. If not then I will just take the next step and buy the new Aux Cable adapter and see if that fixes my audio issue. Any help and or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

The issue with the AUX port falling through is usually because the plastic that it clips to has broken out and fallen away. At least that is what happened with mine.

A forum user posted a 3D printed solution, maybe you can get one from him. It's basically a small shroud that the port clips into and sits on top of the existing hole. There also was a link to a similar product made out of spring steel. Do a search on AUX port fix and it should come up.

Thanks djh2. I'll look into that an see if I can find it and if it helps with retaining the Aux Port.
