Badge adhesive

The "i" has become detached from my badge. There is adhesive left in its place but not sticky enough to hold it back on. What is the best way to put it back on without making a mess? Buy more adhesive as an official thing from BMW? Would I have to buy a whole new badge if I did that? And would I have to remove the old adhesive from the bodywork first? Thanks!

I think they're attached using double sided 3M tape, my boot spoiler was attached using similar to the stuff below. To be honest it's probably easier to de badge.
