If you are lucky enough to get on one of the ACL (Atlantic Container Line) ships you can actually watch your vessel come across the ocean, as they have a neat little Java app. I did that several years ago as I tracked a Volvo order. This is the ultimate tracking for the obsessed. You can zoom in on the ships position and other neat little facts.
