Worth buying out?
Hi people, i’m leasing 2011 335i e92 n55 RWD 6mt, my lease is almost over, the car has 130k km, never had any major problems, always had proper maintenance (oil every 7k, other fluids, spark plugs etc), the clutch was changed, it’s also chipped (stage 1). Is it worth buying out for $14700cad? I know that fuel and water pumps go bad around that mileage. And turbo is also my concern. I want your opinions
PS. Im in Montreal, Quebec |

$14,700 CAD is about $11,600 USD I did a quick search on Cars.com for 2011 335i with 90,000 miles or less, within California and the market here is asking between $14,000 to $20,000 USD, which is about $17,800 to $25,400 CAD. Based on this search, I would do the buyout. I suggest doing the same search on cars.com but check your area, and narrow down by year, mileage and options then decide. Also think about how much you've already paid in lease payments. But to me $11,600 USD is a good deal. |

To me it’s good price as well, i’m curious about future repairs i will need to do. If everything starts felling apart, and the car is out of warranty, it might become a nightmare 😂

since you know the owner...and you know he's not an A-hole ...i would buy it out...the pricing seems pretty good for a well taken care of n55. The pure turbo stage 1 for the n55 is only $900...since its only one turbo so its not too bad.

Since the price is wrong from what others say, can you turn it in, and buy it for $11k? Can't be that easy would be my guess. Stick is not common so I'd want to keep the car if possible...

You know how you drove it and how it has been maintained. That said, you are already well ahead of buying one off of a lot, regardless of price. I say buy the car and go with an MHD tune.

If you like the car enough ... buy it. It's a good enough price that you could sell it later if you're so inclined. If you're worried about repairs, you can always purchase an aftermarket warranty plan, that way you're covered. In the near future you should be looking at maintenance items like spark plugs, coils, walnut blasting - if you haven't done these things already. Your biggest cost would be the turbos ... but that should be covered in your warranty. If you do go the warranty route ... just make sure to get a Bumper - Bumper so you're covered for just about anything (sans gaskets - warranties only cover those during repairs for something else). |

You will have a hell of a time finding another Manual.
All the newer models have electric steering I believe You know what's been done to it. If you buy something new judging from what you have done you will be sinking money into mods right away. Which is why I will never lease. The long term issues with the Turbo's are pretty well known. |
