2011 E90 Door Actuator - Door wont open

Hello,

I am looking for help. 2011 E90, Rear Driver's Side door won't open.

The actuator arm does go up and down when the car is locked and unlocked.

Door is currently closed and can not be opened. I need to replace the actuator, and I have the replacement in hand.

Again, the door is closed, and I have removed the door panel. Nothing that I can do will open the door, thus allowing me to remove the T30 Torx screws, remove cable linkage, and replace the Actuator assembly.

How do I go about removing the actuator from a closed door. More accurately, how do I open the door when the actuator fails in the locked position?

Anyone have this happen before?

Drop kick the door until it opens. Then proceed with removing the plastic panel to replace actuator.

Fixed it.

With these symptoms, it was as simple as removing the exterior door cable from the harness and the door popped right open. It was unexpected but very welcomed!

I swapped the actuator assembly in 5 minutes. Very simple to do.

Thanks.

Considering that I've done this, consider me an expert and feel free to ask me questions. Thank you, thank you.

This used to be a problem for my passenger rear door. It would open from inside and not outside. No it was not the safety lock bs. The funny thing is i never fixed it for so long until it actually fixed itself when my girlfriend tried opening it. Now Works till this day!
