new 335i owner

so just got myself a 335i manual. (pick it up in the next few days)

2007 plate with 104k on it. but its just had a full service and a pair of new turbos. FSH and one owner.

at the moment its standard.

is there anything any owners would suggest doing to start with?

Very nice, I have one just like I it.
Hopefully you won't bastardise it with lots of 'sport' or 'M' replica panels , silly wheels & trinkets.
As for tasteful mods, you could start by lowering it & maybes a uprated inter cooler & a engine remap.
Welcome to 335i ownership

I like stealthy, but joking aside a lot of guys on here have some nicely modded 35is.
Lowering wise depends what you want to achieve & how deep your pockets are. lowering wise I looked at the options & went with lowering springs with new Sachs oem shocks, I'm happy enough with it for £110 a corner, bit choppy at times but handles very nicely, how much quicker it'd go round a corner or roundabout had I spent £440 a corner I couldn't tell you but make sure you keep enough to fix it when it breaks... 'cause it will

If you're going to track it then you want a good set up if you liked the KWs then why not.

Welcome to the 335 owners Nut House

Very Nice, a blank canvas and I am sure there will be a whole list of bits to do.

If it were mine, I would keep it standard

Mhd is mobile that has built in ots maps For N54. You can also use it to upload custom maps from tuners around the world. You just need an android device an obd cable and an otg cable and the required licenses

I Agree with that one,

I have seen some nasty modified cars over the years, hence mine is built and not bought.

Not to every one's taste I know.

Welcome aboard buddy. Very nice clean example which reminds me of mine when I first got it.

I like the fact you are already planning mods and chassis ones at that. I’d definitely be looking at something like KW’s or Ohlins as the suspension of choice it were me. I went with Ohlins after having Birds kit on it when I bought it.

Any cosmetic changes you thinking: exterior or interior?

Oh and from my build thread you’ll see I’m definitely one of the ones who doesn’t like stealthy

Have a check of its mot history, it seems to have only covered 241 miles from 8th December 16 _14th September 17 & I'd check those advisorys from the December mot were actually done & the car wasn't mot'd by a 'freindly' tester.
Having just reread your post it appears to still be on 104k.

Do you know why it's only covered 241 miles over 10 months? What's the exact mileage now?

Looks like a good example.

First thing?
Golf tee mod and maybe a different gear knob.
Apart from that a splitter and rear diffuser and lip spoiler.

With a 335i, especially an old one you need to know exactly what 'issues' it's had & what's been sorted. Don't just think it's all good because you've been told the turbos have been replaced. Not trying to put a dampener on things but these cars can & mostly are expensive to own.
How much is it up for?
What kinda tyres are on it, what condition are the discs in? Take some close ups & post them up, if you've not already bought it.
I would want to know why it's covered so few miles since December 2017 if I was considering buying it.
