Does my current M performance airbag fit the F80 steering wheel?

For example, if I were to purchase an F80 M Performance steering wheel for my F30, would I also need to purchase a new steering wheel airbag for the steering wheel? Can I just use my existing F30 steering wheel airbag? Was looking through the forums but couldn't really get a definitive answer. I heard the F30 and F80 airbags are different.

Thanks!

Oops, I meant to say my current steering wheel is an M-sport steering wheel.

It's one of these, I was planning on buying an alcantara F80 one and not the F30 alcantara one, incase I want to switch to an M3 in the future. Thanks!

So yes airbag is the same, I would suggest into looking to get your wheel redone.

I just sent mine off, should come back similar to this, I made a couple of other little tweaks.

Wow, that looks really nice! Where did you send your wheel to get it redone?

To each his own, but I’d never risk my life with an aftermarket covering on an airbag for cosmetic reasons.

While the F30 MSport Airbag will work, the F80 Airbag is covered in Merino leather instead of F30 plastic and that attention to detail is what sets your car apart when combined with the F80 Steering Wheel Trim.

Good point, I actually did not send the airbag to get covered, just the wheel.

With my luck, that'd be the one time the stitches hold up on something and DON'T break... Or at least not quickly Lol..
