Difference in Body Style 09 vs 11 335i Convertible

Update: I bought the car! Went with the 2011 over the 09.
Thanks to everyone that helped me out. I will post pics once I get her home and cleaned up.

Hi guys. Im looking to buy a 335i convertible. My two top choice at this point is a 2009 and 2011. My question is whats the difference in body style?

My naked eye can't seem to tell if there's any. Are there any? If so what is it?

Thank you.

This is the 09 I'm looking at:

And this is the 2011:

I would obviously like to get the newer model. But the 09 comes with the red interior which seems impossible to find in NYC. Thats why I'm in this mess. LOL

Don't think there is a body style difference. But there is N54 vs N55 difference.

Yes I know the newer model comes with a n55 instead of a 54.
Man I wish the 2011 had red interior. Crazy thing is the 2011 is going for 15k where as the 09 going for 18k. Must be the red guts!

Motor is different (more reliable), front bumper has slight changes, but the biggest improvement is the LED lighting upgrades of the LCI models.

You might find one for sale in the forum classifieds. There's an interior trading thread I believe.

both of those look to be M-sport versions, but the wheels on the 09 are not M-sport wheels, unless the 09 has a swapped bumper

As mentioned before, the Lighting package changed to LEDs, slight change to bumper and headlights, side view mirrors are bigger.

As for the engine, N55 vs N54. I was in the same dilemma when looking for a Vert, choice was between an 09 and an LCI 2011. Ended up going with the 09 because of the N54 engine, better platform if you're doing any performance modification and tuning.

Thanks man. I might end up going 09 myself. Still trying to figure out if I should spend the extra $4k on an older model.

Considered the IS, however, there was a $6K difference in what I paid for an 09 M-Sport with 60K miles as opposed to the 2011 with similar specs

That's exactly my problem. Don't wanna spend that extra 6-7k. If I'm spending over 20k on a 3 series. It may as well be the m3

My advice is buy what you want; not what's a deal. You'll thank yourself in the long run after all of the time wishing what it could have been.

Of course, if money is not an issue. Then again, these cars are getting cheap.

If you care about audio, just know that in 2010/early 2011 the base audio system is crap.
