2019 BMW M2C  [0.00]
Valve cover replacement

So I will be replacing my valve cover gasket due to oil leak, wanted to know if I sould also replace the cover it self due to age? See the picture not sure if its craked yet.

Its a 07 335i with 131K miles.

Definitely cracked, suffering the same thing with my 1er. Theres a hairline crack right above of injector 3. It seems to be the week spot on these valve covers because its where they all break.

I personally would not go with anything ebay. There is a slightly cheaper oem version brand uro they do alot of bmw parts and good sruff check it out at bimmerworld. They have the whole kit for 260

OE replacement is fine. I buy parts like this from FCP Euro since they give you a lifetime warranty.

I think a failed gasket qualifies, but I’d probably buy one. I would use the warranty on the valve cover itself without question. I think it’s unethical to return motor oil. Their own policy page says they’ll take back wear items and specifically names brake pads and gaskets.

A couple local shops that received quotes from wouldn't do one with out the other. I would play it safe and do it right once with oem valve cover or post a wtb I'm sure someone has one new laying around.
