Gloss Black Front Splitter on AW?

Hey everybody,

I'm looking into adding the M Performance front splitter to my Alpine White 340i. I'm considering painting it gloss black to match my grill, window trim, and roof wrap. Does anyone have any pics of the front splitter painted gloss black that I could check out?

Also, do you really need to get a deck lid spoiler in conjunction with the front splitter or is this just an upsell tactic?

if you don't get the deck lid spoiler with the front lip your car will flip upside down when you drive it.

I just installed one on my F32 this past weekend. I thought about painting it gloss black but decided against it as it's just going to get pelted w/rocks and pebbles.

As an experiment, I then sanded, compounded and polished the underside of it and the results were fantastic. Looks just like it was painted.

However then... I decided I didn't want to spend that kind of time on the whole thing, so I left it unpainted, but coated with Meguiar's G15812 Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer and am really pleased with it. It's glossier than being unpainted, but not overly shiny.

see attached pic

P.S. I have an M4 style spoiler on the rear as well.

Here's my old 328i which has the gloss black splitter. I can't find any other pictures I'm afraid.

None of these splitters/wings/lips do shit for performance, in fact I bet they might increase drag if anything. This is purely cosmetic.

I hate the matte look. I always go gloss black with my accents.

A couple pics of the gloss black rear diffusuer and spoiler.

I'm getting my roof painted gloss black this summer as well. Hope the pics help.

Question... your taillights look amber, not red. Are they really amber or is that just the picture. If amber, how'd you get them like that?

I was contemplating coating mine on my f30 with the maguires stuff. How long is it supposed to last?

It says on the bottle that it lasts "for weeks." It's been about 2 so far since I applied it and it still looking good, even after a good rain a few days ago.

It's the editing. I always enhance the glow of the tails in my pics.
