Hey guys,

2008 328i Auto

Been hearing a strange whining/Humming noise lately. The noise primarily comes from the dashboard area. This isnt something new and would be a rare occurence ever since I first got the car almost 2 years ago. Lately its been happening almost every time the car warms up. I thought it was AC related at first but I don't think thats the case. It doesnt correspond to RPMs and I dont think it has to do with power steering. I did notice When I switch from gears the noise lowers and comes back. Old threads didnt help much. Anyway attached a video. Its a very low noise I hope u can hear it. Any Ideas or experience from anyone? Thank you!

I have a buzzing/humming noise coming from my blower motor in the HVAC that needs replacement or oiling. I can't tell because your car is running, but did you try turning the HVAC fan off to see if it goes away, or turning it up to see if it gets louder?

Also try turning the A/C on and off manually with the fan on full.

mine had a buzzing. It was the tiny fan in the HVAC controls that let's it sample interior temp.
I pulled it and oiled it's little bronze bushing, fixed.

The radio system also has a cooling fan that remains on until sleep.

I played around with the AC/Heater a bit and no change. Weird thing is the sound doesn't come for a while then it just starts out of nowhere. So it might not be the blower motor. Doesnt really bother but Im still curious why
