So I f'd up, but how bad?!?! Broken door lock
So I love when I'm repairing something and I break something else 😫.
While repairing my driver side actuator I broke the door lock not realizing it was connected to the actuator. Do I have to replace all my locks now? TIA for any advice. |

So I buttoned everything up and this piece seems to only control the manual key unlock. Remote and comfort access still works. Still wondering if I can repair if anyone knows.

Don't know about BMW's but on most cars you can remove the
lock core and transfer it to the new core holder. Which means no new Keys needed. |

A little research on RealOEM.com brings up this information. From the diagram it is item 11 you are looking for. It looks like the P/N is either 51217162427 "CATCH WITH KEY LEFT" (lock with a new metal key), or 51217199833 "Lock with code, left" (lock that matches your metal key). I'd suppose you'd have to know the code of the metal key, which at the dealer they would know by the VIN.
Hope this helps.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
