Competition badging: cool or tacky?

Based on the M2 Competition and M5 Competition photos, BMW seems to now include the word "competition" under the rear badging. It's likely the next M3/M4 Competition could have the same badging.

I was curious how other forum members felt about this? I personally think it looks a bit tacky but then again I don't like badging on cars in general.

I'm indifferent to it, not a huge fan of stuff at this level being called 'competition' which is a bit of a mute and lame term, but leaning more towards liking it than not

If they keep it slim and tight and minimal, I like.

I don't hate it, but I would prefer without. I would like it on a similar position (relative to the ///M2 nameplate) on the door sills, but I like simpler exterior badging.

I might replace my M2 trunk badge w/the black one. The Competition may have looked better as a trailing C, CS, GTS, etc.

Since these are not track prepared cars (no roll cage, etc), competition makes no sense to me.

i think BMW should focus more energy on whipping the competition, instead of writing the word on their cars.

Debadge EVERYTHING. I'd remove my damn roundels if I could. Never been a fan of adding even more badges to a car.

As great of a car as the M2C most likely is. I just cant get myself to even partially like the looks. BMW is trying way too hard lately and making their cars look way too aggressive.

For all the princesses that feel M ownership isn't exclusive enough anymore.

It’s just the next evolution in the M brand. Like it or not. Ppl will pay for it, bottom line.

I’ll give my full opinion after M track day driving and I get behind the wheel of a few of these bad boys!

I personally DON'T like he actual word "competition" I thought the black badging to indicate Competition was always subtle and cool... Oh well.

I am going to add it to my daughter Scion TC! Because the M doesn't mean performance anymore it means "Me too"...

The chrome has been deleted so anything short of saying "POS" or "weaksauce, etc" is an improvement over the original badge they stick on civic M cars.

I like the concept of the "M" cars, and the fact that the "competition" branding seems to be getting a bit more performance seems stupid, M is already the motorsports tribute, this is just redundant. Whats next a Trans Am Thunderchicken on the hood.
