I hope these teams have plan B and C ready for a 2 stopper race. Because these tires are probably going to blister and explode given the high track temperature.

Good grief, two fantastic races in a row? What is F1 coming to? We're going to get spoiled with action like this!

The way they mix the on-board footage in is amazing these days, especially when the battle is like the end of this race. Really gets the adrenaline pumping.

Great race. You gotta admire Kimi just flat out saying it was his fault and the penalty was what it was. Rather poor coverage though of what happened between the Red Bulls. Hardly seems like the same team that used to dominate.

Kimi has been revitalized the last two races, it always seems like he kicks it into gear mid season or so when his job is supposedly on the line. No matter what he does, 38 years old is 38 years old so unfortunately I think he's on the way out no matter what he does. Still nice to see him going for it though!

I can't believe they never replayed what happened to the Red Bulls (unless I missed it), what the heck?

Good race!
Now let the drama begin, Mercedes sorta implying Ferrari deliberately ruin mercedes' race. (France and Great Britain)
Well silver arrow, IMO first you have to be so slow at the start so the Ferrari was able to hit you.

I think max just spun himself out when his gearbox would't shift from 4th. That's why there was no exciting replay.

Great race once again!

No, brakes were gone. That's why they had to retire the car.

I'd like to continue the discussion about whether HAM is a whiny baby. Firstly, RAI didn't plow into HAM; it was actually HAM that moved into RAI, but technically, RAI should've yielded the turn, which he was not able to do. But really, a racing incident, which could've been avoided if HAM hadn't botched the start and then tried to close the door on RAI.

In any case, where was HAM during the post-race interview? Oh yeah, he walked away like a baby, then lied about it later (I was just exhausted). And he lied about having no issues with RAI and Ferrari, because he did. He also made a really weird, apologetic address to the crowd. He's got issues.

I'm much more of a Raik/Ferrari fan, but he definitely plowed into Ham (rewatch Kimi's onboard) and accepted the fault for it. The drama is pretty funny though. Even Toto seemed to be in on the conspiracy haha.

First, Hamilton's poor getaway got himself into this kind of situation. After since FIA restricted the start clutch or something. Drivers had to use a single clutch instead of two first and second stage clutch for race starts, Mercedes was inconsistent of their getaways.

Second, I do think Hamilton just left Raikkonen just enough room to turn in. However, once Kimi locked up, all bets are off. Having said that, I do think its more or less a "racing incident". And 5-10 seconds penalty is more than enough.

Third, this season just exposed how slow react are the Mercedes team and members of the Mercedes organization unable to take a real challenge. Numerous times we've seen the pitwall/race strategy slow to make a decision when an opportunity arise, (e.g. VSC/SC situations), where in contrast, RBR was quick on their foot and able to make win deciding decisions.

One major reason in the past was their car was too good compare to the rest, so their options are open. And the pitwall had all the time in the world to analyze the data and find a pit window gap. Now, they do not have such luxury cause Ferrari and RBR are breathing on their neck. Ferrari's decision might not be the most effective, but they are willing to make bold move and pit during VSC/SC and let either VET/RAI to challenge. So did RBR in a few times double stack and critical to their podium or race win decision. (e.g. RIC @ China)
Probably there's just too much "race engineers" in the Mercedes camp background staring at the screens.

With nothing seems to be going well for Mercedes this season, what they need to do is keep their head down (like how Ferrari enduring all these years of championship drought). Instead, they quickly blame Ferrari for "interesting tactics". I have to admit in past history Ferrari was not the most honorable team of "team orders". And also being part of "FIA - Ferrari International Assistance". I do not recall them blaming other teams hitting them and sabotage their race. (Please correct me if I'm wrong).

Anyhow, these kind of drama does bring 2018 becoming an awesome season. Most of the races are great, and we have fourdifference race winners (HAM/VET/VER/RIC). Looking forward to the rest of the season.
(just realized HAM only won three races this season)

I saw the accident live, and then again on replay.

1) Objectively speaking, yes, Hamilton did leave Raikkonen with enough space. BUT that's objectively speaking and I bet in person, Raikkonen probably had a heart attack.

2) Raikkonen's wheel locked up, tires were cold, and there wasn't much he could do.

3) He did "plow" into Hamilton, but given the situation, there wasn't a whole lot that either party could do.

4) I can understand Hamilton's frustration at the end of the race. Just imagine if you were ahead by a car's length going into a corner, only to be punted into the gravel, you would probably have some sort of reaction.

5) Good on Raikkonen for accepting the error, even though there wasn't much he could do about it. Imagine if it were Vettel: "I didn't touch him, he spun himself. What are we doing here, honestly?!"

Hamilton's start killed his race. Even without the incident I doubt he would have ever passed Vettel. My 2 cents.

I feel for Grosjean. Seems like a good fella.. But I think he’s halfway out the door now. I’d love to see Raikkonen take his seat.

I thought it was a great race. While I dont like Hamilton, he did amazing catching up from last to 2nd.

But Vettel's pass on Bottas was awesome.

Grosjean has always been a terrible driver IMO. I always want to see Haas do well since they are a US team, but they need a better driver.

1st) Kimi is a badass! I love his stone cold demeanor.

2nd) I love these races.

3rd) Hamilton isn't a real competitor. He's only happy when he wins a race that is never close. Real competitors love close finishes. He should have been thrilled at how well he came back in the race.
