Good Reputable Main Dealer – Heathrow Area?

Hi All

My 335d is nearing her first service + some warranty repair work, so I need to find a good reputable main dealer in the Heathrow area.

Anyone able to provide comment on any of these dealers below for servicing?

Berry Heathrow
Berry Chiswick
Scotthall Ruislip
Stratstone Windsor

Many thanks;

LRS

Doesn't seem to have been a reply - maybe there aren't any!!!

Mine was supplied by Berry Heathrow (although the no plates say Berry Chiswick) - all seems fine, Dawn the fleet sales girl was very helpfull on the phone, and it all seems to have been preped OK ready for delivery.

One of the valve caps fell off one of the tyres (or was nicked) and they posted me out a replacement

No experiance with their Service team or in person.... but I believe they do a "Fly and Service" where you can leave your car when you fly out on buisness or holiday, and its all ready for you when you get back - saves on the parking fees!!

Cheers

Jools, thanks for the feedback.

I’ve read so many horror stories regards dealer servicing (on another forum; BMW Land) e.g. denting and scratching cars, not fixing faults, etc…

I must admit it would be very useful if the e90post.com, UK forum, could run a dealer servicing poll? Vivekk, what do yea think?

yeah and thats when you find that your car has a load more miles on than it should have when you collect it ... im sure the dealer is ok that you refer to, but i wouldnt like my car being left for a dealer to run around in for a few weeks ( or even do demos in - thats been known before )

We are very happy with our local dealer, but we have been using them for years even though they have changed their name twice! We were quite happy to leave our M3 with them for some work when we went on holiday once. TBH it was probably safer than leaving it at home. Not quite local to Heathrow though.

Regards

Thanks All

Luckily I’m not leaving the car with the dealer while away, it’s just that I work near to the airport and it would be very convenient to drop off the car in the morning and then collect at the end of the day.

Failing Heathrow, what about the Reading area for a good main dealer for servicing?

I still think a regular thread on “Dealer Servicing – Who’s Good & Whose Bad” would be very handy.

There is a thread concerning views of dealerships here.

Setting up a poll would be difficult, as it would need to include all dealerships at which members have had their cars serviced.
I also don't think it would be as useful, compared to member posts of their own individual servicing problems with dealers.

However, a comparison of servicing costs & customer service could be quite useful.

Thanks for the link Viv

Do you think we could move this thread (UK BMW Dealers: General Opinions?) into a Sticky? Maybe? Please?

I wouldn't touch any dealer with Stratstone above the door with a barge pole, be careful, there are good dealers, there are bad too, Stratstone are one of the worst (Pendragon owned.)

lol! Buying a car is the same from anyone really.

Having a car serviced by a trusted dealer is different IMO.

There are good and bad of them all and maybe your Stratstone is OK, most aren't just watch out

From the experience I had with my E46 at Stratstone in Derby, theres no way they would get my service and repairs business.

Not all of Pendragon is bad, they own some of the OPCs and they are excellent, though I think they are extremely manufacturer lead, unlike other marques.

Hi Porscha

Do you happen to know of any good main dealers for servicing in the Southeast by any chance?

I bought my coupe from Specialist Cars in Stevenage who were good, so may go back to them, but it's a long way from home and requires a day off work to take it there...not real great...

Hi,

I don't know the South East I'm afraid as I'm oooop north lol.

If you have a Sytners close by they are usually good, the Nottingham one is excellent I know that.

Others I don't know of, best people to ask are the ones who live in the South East, Booforty, Carlos etc.

Let me just say I know about Stratstone and their shocking customer service and policies because I used to work for the group, yet got extremely bad treatment from the local BMW dealer, I know about the numerous complaints they had, if you do decide to go with them, just be careful

Thanks Porscha, I have a Sytners down the road.

Failing that, "Calling all Southeast southerners"!!, where's the best main dealer for servicing & warranty repairs in the Thames Valley area? Carlos? Booforty? anyone...?

I've been very happy with Scotthall Watford both for sales and after sales. I'd definitely recommend them.
