DUI Insurance

The younger cousin recently got a DUI few months ago and when he visited he was wondering whats the cheapest insurance rate for him? He is only 20 years old and wanted a bimmer too since he was looking for cars soon but I'm not sure which insurance is affordable for him. Anyone got an insurance company or tips for him

Um, a Bimmer with a DUI (SR22)--especially at age 20--would be uber-expensive. Maybe, The General, or something. I'm willing to bet it would be more than the car payment. Perhaps he should drive a cheaper-to-ensure car until his penalty time is up?

Why would a young man who recently got a DUI move into an M3?: I guess if he's buying it it's no ones business but this is an expensive move.

With a DUI at that age he would be deemed a high-risk driver and his best bet of getting insured in the first place, let alone getting a good rate would be a specialist broker that deals with insuring high risk drivers.

How does a 20 year old that got a DUI a few months ago have a need for insurance? Wouldn't his license be suspended for a long ass time?

Probably try "The General" insurance dude that they try to sell to people on daytime TV during Maury and Judge Judy, between commercials for internet college and 1-800-ask-gary.

Well for starters..... Lol.

I did get pulled over drunk once on a bicycle in Coronado. I was okay to ride and it was 1 in the morning, however I just got a warning to put on a helmet.

In regards to the law though, I have a pretty good understanding from a police officer's point of view thanks to the military. The law varies, (of course, state to state, county to county), however, if a bicyclist is posing a risk of harm to themself, pedestrians, or motor vehicles and gets pulled over, he/she can be subject to a DUI depending on the governing laws in that jurisdiction.
