The 3 series looked so evolutionary. The weight savings should help the ride but I am now thinking that the LCI will be a better upgrade.

Show was boring again. Some cars the same as last year. Including the NSX GT3. The new 3 series has the same taillights as a Lexus RC and Acura ILX. They all look very similar. I don't like the new 3. Nothing stands out, but there was a F1 Alfa test car. Looked awesome up close. |

It was wider and looked similar to an M2 from the rear. I liked it but all Porshes are way too similar in design.

I for one am pleased with the new 3er. I agree it's a bit overstyled up front and the rear has some Lexus in it, but overall I think it looks best in class inside and out. I just hope the driving dynamics are on point. My E90's USB music interface is crapping out and the car is getting pricey to maintain, but the driving experience is so magical I can't let it go.

i was really disappointed in bmw. i can't stand the new styling and big cheap looking grilles. the M2c and the m4 vert were their coolest cars. the 850 was cool, but just not my thing.

Well, since 2008, the LA show has been boring because all the exotic manufacturers stopped coming due to "Global economic downturn" or some BS like that. No Ferrari, Lambo, Aston, RR, Lotus, McLaren, on and on... You know what, I'm going to email them and ask what are they going to do about this. TO lobby these guys to come back, because this is LA, the largest market for these cars and they don't give a shit to come here. Agree. The M2 comp was the shit. I love the hood and the new lip. If I had extra cash lying around I would buy one, but it's too damn heavy. lol |

I didn't even go to the "exotics" hall because I knew whatever they had would be 10' behind a velvet rope.
The next day at cars and coffee a mclaren senna and a koeniggseg agera rs showed up. I love smelling the smells of these cars and hearing them.... the sounds of the doors opening and closing... inspecting the bolts, fasteners, carbon... you don't get to do that at auto shows.

And yeah, it was big news earlier this year when first Mercedes, then BMW, then Audi pulled out of NAIAS. I didn't expect Audi to as they have offices in the Detroit area, but nevertheless it is what it is. It finally pushed them to move the show to October from 2020 onward. Execs and the press don't want to visit Detroit in the dead of January. October is the most beautiful month there and it is warm enough that people can enjoy the city too. Hopefully the Germans return. |
