disk drive no worky

when i tried to reinstall my av software all I heard was a beeping noise when I put the disk in. anybody know if it's a bad disk drive or if my pc isn't set up properly?

disk drive as in CD drive, hard drive or floppy? (lol I know it's not floppy but still :-P)

what was the beeping noise? was it coming from the disk drive or from your motheboard, or your speakers? what was occuring on screen when this happened? i would suggest going over to eggxpert.com and posting over there, the guys are really helpful.

Disk drives don't beep. Did the drive spin up ?? Any other noises ?? Did you try another CD to see if that worked ??

when I clicked on the drive the disk popped out. I did try another disk and it didn't work. I'll do a scan and try dell later if it continues...
