How much is BMW’s employee discount for parts?
Hi all,
I'm a member of a group that's supposed to get "employee discount" on parts which is ten percent above wholesale price from this dealer in my state. The dealer clearly advertises that to us in our newsletter every month. I reached out to the dealer and got a quote on some m perf parts and was quoted less than 10% off MSRP. I asked for them to double check that was correct price with the "employee discount" and they said yes. I've been quoted 15% off from other dealers before so I find it hard to believe that BMW employees would get less than that? Can anyone confirm? I have a feeling this dealer is just being dishonest and if that's the case I'll have to reach out to their manager and to my groups president. |

Its usually cost + 10% as an auto industry discount. Remember that discounting accessories is harder then a mass produced mechanical product such as a belt or filter. BMW Bellevue has like 200% mark up as BMW seattle is 100% so it is dealer specific.

I'm in NJ there's really no markup here the most you will be charged (in my experiences so far) is simply MSRP. Most dealers here offer some sort of discount from that MSRP though. I just find it really hard to believe that according to them they are offering me "employee discount" when I got a better deal from another dealer in the same state without even mentioning that I'm a part of any groups, etc. |

Wait, has this ever happened before? Can someone confirm?
Kidding aside, I had a local dealer offer their employee discount and spring sale discount which allegedly stacked. In the end it was cheaper ordering from Brian at Sun Motors at their regular price. Might want to check to see if their price is more competitive. In my experience, they are very hard to beat. |

Depends on the dealership. I knew a few guys who got 15% off actual price and just had me pay them five dollars per lot of parts I needed. Their view was they were making money, plus, so many people paid them it worked out.

Many dealers are offering 25 to 35% off MSRP on parts including M Performance parts. As a previous poster said, I got mine from Sun BMW.

I’m really close with my importer thus my dealer so I get %33 off MSRP on new stuff, for classics it is %50-%60 off. It doesn’t matter if it is stock or order

It all depends on WHO's MSRP!! Most dealers charger ABOVE bmw's MSRP. It's called the "bump"... so even when they give you 10% or 15% off... they are still making money.
In my experience most dealers will add 5%, 10% even 20% to BMW's MSRP and THEN give you that 10% off. Some dealers even charge this "bump" to their employees too. The best thing is to shop around for parts prices.
