The higher the octane level the better. 99 is the highest you can get in the UK via forecourts and if you can find it and are happy to pay the extra for it then put it in - your car will love you for it!!! And no it wont do any harm whatsoever to your car.

Echo that.
Only ever run my recent performance cars on the best stuff, M3, 997 Powerkit C2S, 335i etc. Why would you buy the best engine in the business and then put cooking oil in it for the sake of saving a couple of quid ? The M3 could tell the difference between Sainsburys 97 Super and Shell Optimax 98 RON as it then was ! Yves |

The higher octane the better.
Believe it or not our standard unleaded is shit, the equiv. to the "2 Star" leaded petrol. For some reason when things swapped over they made the standard stuff less octane than some of the unleaded cars were actually built for, something I was told anyway, standard family saloons were having to fill up with super! Petrol is worse quality than it was years ago (not that I remember years ago, I was just told about it!) So moral of this story - if you care use super unleaded but keep in mind some places call 97RON super, so check at each individual place

It doesn't like the Tesco stuff as much so I avoid it since the engine rebuild. I have run mine on 100 whilst in Germany but would like to try 102 from BP if I ever get a chance to pass a BP102 garage!

I have never thought about it really, always used anything but I do have some model car fuel in the garage
I guess it should be the highest grade possible to get the best performance but it shouldl run on normal fuel without and issue as other countries run lower octane than the UK. |

I always put a fifth of a bottle of millers in mine when I fill up (meant to get 10 fills from it), it likes Shell diesel better than BP Ultimate too, which is a bonus as Shell seems to be one of the better ones price wise.
if I don't use millers you can really tell a difference by the second tank. Not sure what it does exactly, anyone know? |

Millers raises the diesel cetane rating by up to 4 points. It makes normal diesel into V-Power/Ultimate for less money. It also lubricates and protects the fuel pump.

Looks pretty good, may give it a try! Carlos should definitely feed it to the DXB, up to 17.5% extra BHP and add double strngth for extra boost! I would love to see this shown on a DYNO test. |

There are some dyno tests using it, think the bhp gain was minimal, it made the car more like the manufacturers specs and with regular diesel it made it underperform by around 7% from memory. But it was the increase in mpg that made it worth while.
When ultimate diesel was 84p instead of 80p for regular stuff it was still thought that this stuff was worth it, 10 fills so approx. 600 litres worth of fuel treatment, but now when ultimate is 15p a litre more it makes complete sense at £6.99 a bottle or whatever it costs. All the petrol companies do is add their addative to the pumps when they deliver the fuel, you don't get one tanker arrive with 95ron and another with 98ron, they all put the same stuff in and add something similar to Millers to get the Ultimate label. So you may as well add it yourself, will cost you £9.50 extra to put ultimate in a 63 litre tank at the moment round here, where as this stuff will take it to nearer 100ron for about £1.50 a tankful. |
