Help me choose a replacement for my S8
I am so stuck right now, going to tell you the contenders below and what I think of them, need to know what I should get:
Context: Audi S8 with 675hp and 700 ftlb (Stage 1 ECU tune) Contenders: M5 non-comp: Is it aggressive enough? I am ready to move to something a bit more aggressive, a bit more showy, just not quite sure it fits the bill. Videos make it seem exhilerating though i was a bit underwhelmed when I test drove it (couldn't go above 4500 rpm's during break in though). Never owned a bimmer but I do love the black on black look. S8 Plus: I love the series, this one at least puts out over 600 and it has a beautiful front fascia and is one of the best blended sport and comfort driving cars I have ever driven, incredible. RS 7: Always loved this car, loved its sleek looks and hell it has the same motor as the S8. Tech is behind the times though the interior as a whole is pretty. CLS63: Yes, sexy in certain color combos but about the most outdated MMI ever. E63s: That back end just doesn't do it for me, they just don't seem to know what to do with it, it is so awkward. Interior is sick. M850i: tough to spend a ton of money on a non true M car but damn it looks good and interior is baller. S63: Meh, not all that exciting to me. I8: very underwhelming performance but extreme, beautiful looks I want something that really stands out and grabs attention, sounds good, and that I won't regret. |

Did you notice he currently drives an Audi and this is his first post on a BMW forum? Also the number of choices? We're gonna be here all day debating without a clear winner.

hard to be flashy with any of those except the i8. And that car is a huge pile of garbage.
its hard even telling a 550 apart from an M5 unless you're right up close to it. I'd get an order in for a Porsche Taycan.

Z06 or ZR1 time for a real sports car, which is what you sound like you want but none of the choices really match that.

With a mix of 2 and 4 door cars, it's impossible to know what to say here, because the requirements aren't clear. If it's just "fun to drive", then a bunch of the 4-door cars have no business on this list. If it's for practicality reasons, then a bunch of the 2-door cars don't belong on the list.
That said, the new M5 would be my pick, BMW really upped the game with performance and no compromise in this newest version IMO. Audi engines are in the wrong place, Mercedes is nice but always a tick lower for performance/handling/driving (but a tick higher for cabin, comfort, etc.). M6 is going away and was bloated anyway. M8/M850 is less practicality and bloated compared to an M5. Personally, I'd be looking for a good combination of practicality and fun to drive, I think that's the point of the M5, others lean more towards luxury/opulence.

I haven't driven one yet, but the M850i looks really appealing. It's a brand new design so if you want something noticeable, that's definitely it. All Audi's look the same to me, I can't tell between an RS7 and an S7 from a distance. Audi's styling is just too understated unless you are getting an R8 imho. The same for AMG cars unless you are getting an GT. The i8 put it self out of the game with regular high performance instead of supercar high performance. M5 is nice but I would only get the Competition.

I asked a similar question on Reddit a while back while I was trying to decide between an M550i and a RS5. Still haven't bought yet (my lease is not yet up) and have decided to look at the '20 M5s this summer, but I wanted to hear the fans of each try and sell me on one car or the other. For me it wasn't about buying what the majority picked, but getting different opinions, ideas, etc.

No offense to anyone that is a fan of the current Corvette, but the styling of the current models (especially the higher end models) leaves me cold. It makes me think it's styling done by a teenage boy.
