First news about the next (G87) M2:

Production 12/2022 - 03/2029, likely in Mexico.

I hope they can keep the weight around 1500 kg this time. They could also offer a little more choice for the interior/upholstery. Some extra colors for the body would also be nice. Standard comfort seats, and optionally folding Bucket seats. Porsche Gt3 style. Now i know i need to wait until M2 comp. Wondering about the engine.

Still unknown, but AWD strikes me as very unlikely.

Hopefully this time they'll have the base M2 and M2 Competition on the market at the same time like they do with the M5, X3M/X4M and will with the upcoming M3/M4, M8, and X5M/X6M.

Things I want from M2 CS:

- Real M engine
- 6 speed MT without rev match.
- Carbon fiber roof
- CFRP driveshaft
- Mechanically locking diff
- approx 1400kg curb weight
- Bucket seats option

And RWD. I am surprised this is even a question these days.

Basically make a modern day E46 M3 CSL please.

The CSL was SMG-only, but I agree with your wish list even though they'll never get the weight that low.
