Sport Line whisker/fog light housing question (newbie)

Hey guys. New to the site, great community!

Bought my first BMW, 2013 335i Sports Line two months ago. Loving it so far.

One thing that bugs me, and want to know how to remove, is the whisker housing(not sure of actual name). For some reason mine are purple or maybe just super faded? Anyone have any tips on how to remove them? I was thinking of just plasti-dipping them(have a can somewhere lol). I ultimately want to get an M Sport bumper so replacing them seems like a waste of money.

Here's a pic

Appreciate any help.

Hmm yeah that’s an odd coloring. If I remember correctly the part is approx $50 from ECS Tuning... very easy to replace, you can pry the piece out and transfer the whisker to the new part. Up to you if you’d rather put it towards an M-Sport style bumper though.

I'd pull them and paint them, with Krylon Fusion spray paint for plastic.

It's a super unfortunate aspect of the sportline cars with their gloss black fog light housing. Some people have had luck with replacing them under warranty. You're right though, it's not hugely worth spending a hundred bucks to replace if you intend on going m sport eventually. I've thought about painting but questioned the finish I would get, and I'd have to watch a video to see how they're taken out.
