Backache
Hi everyone,
Ive had my 320d se for around 5 weeks now, and eversince owning it ive had terrible lower backache. Has anyone else had the same? The se front seats dont have adjustable lumber supports which i think is the problem! To add to the problem , my wife gets really bad travel sickness in it. Im about to pile a load of money into it for mods like suspension, wheel spacers, matt kidney grilles and a few other bits and bobs, so i hope there is a solution to these problems. Thanks James |

Best bet is to fold up and old tea towel, pop the back panel off the seat and put the folded tea towel in between the springs and the foam. Sit back in the seat and position it so it makes you arch your back a little towards the bottom.
This is doing exactly the same as lumbar but you won't be able to adjust it, however you only adjust lumbar until you get it right anyway. I did this on my 535d and it sorted it out instantly. |

I got told you couldn't get lumbar control with the 320d unless you had all electric seats which turned out to be a load of mince.
I had the impression that I was getting a stiff back from the standard seats but after a couple of months the occasional stiff back has stopped. I suspect a few months sitting in it "breaks it in" and no more problems! |

Good advice guys!!
I'll give the tea towel trick a whirl and see how it goes. How easy is it to take the plastic trim off the rear of the seat? |

You grab the top of the platic trim on the sides, squeeze it together and push both hands towards the centre of the car.
This then puls it away at the top and you can lift it up and off. |

Thought lumbar was an option not factory fit, on any E9x

The pump up bolsters do help in the M Sport seats - believe it or not thats the main reason I got the Si - I didn't know at the time that the SE had the option for "M sport seats". If I dd I'd have got a 325SE
