New Car Ordered!!!

Many thanks to you all who replied on my 325i vs 320d thread. I've made my decision and placed my order!

Dec 07 (57) 325i M-Sport Auto
Titanium Silver
Black Dakota Leather
Brushed Aluminium trim
Heated Seats
Elec Folding mirrors
M Light Alloy Double-spoke 225M
Bluetooth
Sliding armrest
Wind deflector

BMW UK car, 1,900 miles from new

The car should arrive in the next couple of weeks. I don't have a pic of the real car, but I mocked one up on the BMW configurator and this will give an idea of what it looks like:

Would love to, but 31st August is pretty close, and I think I've used up a lot of my 'credit' with the wife in sorting out the car already. I'll see what I can do though :P

I used to own a 13-year-old, and absolutely mint, Alfasud with 6k miles on the clock from new, so I get the old car thing. I also had a Peugeot 306 Cabrio a few years back so am no stranger to open-air motoring.

Looking forward to it!

Alfasud with 6K, nice! How did you manage to find one with next to no miles?! but 13 years old, nah not trying hard enough haha!

I've had more cars with no roofs than ones with 'em

You will not regret it. It is lovely to drive.

One thing, it is an 07 car with 1900 miles on the clock. Is it a demonstrator? Did they say why is was so low mileage?

I recently got a 07 with <2k miles but they did not give me a definite reason suggesting it could be redundancy sale. When i px my car in, they made me sign a form saying that it has not been used as a taxi, tracked or involved in an accident. In hindsight, i should have got them to sign a form saying the same thing about the car i just bought off them. If I was you, I would get them to sign a form saying the same. At least if there was any problems in the future, you can take them to court.

The story behind the Alfa was quite sad really. A guy bought it for his wife in 1982, and she died in 1983. He couldn't bear to sell it, so he stuck it in a garage and asked a mechanic to come in every six months or so and manually turn over the engine so it didn't seize up.

In 1996 or so the guy decided to sell it, and sold it through a little independent Fiat garage I used to use a lot. I bought it for £1500. It was effectively a year-old car with 6k miles and not a single spot of rust - absolutely stunning.

After a few months, in which time I'd put 3k more miles on it, I decided that me keeping the car would wreck it, so I sold it for £3000. The first guy that saw it bought it, even though he could only see it in a dark December night and the boot fell on his head and took a chunk out of it when he went to check the spare.

I should've put it up for more really, but you live and learn.

The low mileage is slightly worrying, as are the 19" wheels that I'm bound to take chunks out of and will probably never be able to find tyres for. However, I reckon the car will be stunning and it is good value. If it has problems it'll just have to go back to BMW for sorting - that's a risk I'll need to take I guess.

My current car was similar - it was also a BMW management car that was 8 months old and had about 3k miles, and has been absolutely fine.
