High Fuel consumption

Hi,

i ve have ordered and received my spare card (key) last week.

Usually my average fuel consumption was 4,7 lt/100km highway and 6,2 lt/100km in town.

i do have the 177 BHP 2 ltr diesel engine.

the funny thing is, as soon as i received my spare key, i did refill my tank, and have been using both the spare and the original key. For a reason, after that, i do get twice the uel consumption that i did before, no matter which i key i do use, , i mean 12 lt/100km in the city, and 7,5 ltr/100km in highway, all under normal driving.

I dont know whats wrong, maybe the diesel i last time refilled was of bad quality, who knows.....

In case someone might suggest, yes i did all the reprogram to the spare key, e.g from miles->km, gallons-> ltr, km/ltr->ltr/100km etc.

thanks for your time.

btw, there was a link that i had saved im my works pc's favourites, with all the parts list, apart from the Realoem.com that was more updated with the E92 Diesel included. The I.T department unexpectetly changed my pc last week, and lost all my favourite links, plus more and no matter how much i have search in this site, i can't find that link again.

Apologies for the thread jack.

Thanks for the link Gizze - didn't know about that one - If I wanted a part off there - can I just ask my dealer to order it?

How many kms is it doing to a tankful? If approximately the same as before something has screwed up on the OBC/key by the sound of it.

Regards

Chris

Problem solved

BAD Quality Diesel from LukOil

We did a reset of the ECU at the BMW dealer, refilled the car and put some Cyclo Diesel system cleaner.

My car is back to normal...

BTW, the day i took the car at the dealership, another one diesel E92 was there with the same exactly problem
