Lemon Interior - Care Advice Please?
Hi All,
I am picking up my new 320d edition next monday, with lemon interior. Is there any advice any current owners of lemon leather interior can give me on the best cleaning/care/maintenance methods? Including products? Thanks again! |

Dont set a new tyre on the bear back seat. My mate done this in his 530d and he now has all the technical details of a continental tyre clearly tatooed into the leather.
He has tried loads of cleaners and cannot shift it.

Watch out for colour transfer when wearing dark jeans.
I would just wash the seats down with some Gliptone cleaner and feeder regularly. Immediately after any staining or discolouration is spotted. |

Dark jeans will make them dirty within a week.................trust me!
I used to wipe mine weekly with a damp cloth, and when they start to look dirty even after you wipe them down, get some Gliptone and clean them properly - great stuff. |

Great, thanks.
Ive just google'd Gliptone, appears to be a few varieties to choose from? Just a basic cleaner, or would you recommend others from the range Cheers! |

yea, just make sure you continually condition the leather and clean the seats. Mine are starting to turn a bit darker in the area where your ass hits the seat from constant rubbing of sand and stuff. its a bit dusty out here so i cant help not getting sand and things into the car. all my other seats are just fine cuase they arent used that much, and i get the car fully detailed in an out once every three months.
just take care not to let anyone eat anything in the car, you dont want their food becoming integrated with your seats :-) |

Picked up the new car yesterday, and the fortunately the gliptone arrived at the same time!! (pics soon)
There was already a slight grubbiness to the drivers side armrest, bottom of the seat, and centre armrest. (oh, and the dealer applied swirls, everywhere, and what looks like a small area of etched in bird poop on the rear trunk) Thanks for the great valet BMW By the time I got back that day after 230 miles, the above areas were even dirtier. Just gave them a quick wipe with a wet flannel, and applied the cleaner and conditioner with an old white (clean) t-shirt, and hey presto back to new again. This stuff is very good, thanks for the advice. Just looks like this will be a regular thing with these seats, but I think its worth the effort. I havent got a soft nail brush yet, but i can see why you need one, as a cloth just does not get into the grooves too well. Highly recommend this product. Cheers |

Along the lines of the dark jeans comments, a gentleman who's wife sat in the car wearing a dark blue or purple woolly winter coat left a stain behind on his Lemon interior. Not sure if he ever shifted it completely using those Gliptone products.
It's a great looking colour combo you get with Lemon, but such a 'mare to keep clean it seems. |

Great price. I might get one of the bigger bottles as my seats love that conditioner. |

That is a good price, I paid around £24 for x2 packs, free delivery, from Performance Motorcare Products.
Seriously, i'm going to get my suit dry cleaned today, OMG this is going to turn into an unhealthy OCD. Anyone want free pairs of dark jeans, mens and womens? And my fingers still stink of leather, so it does do what is says on the bottle thats for sure..............!! |

Hi, i have lemon leather and have no problems with it at all, very good tempered. I have gliptone, but it smells horrid, so just wipe down every few days with zymol leather cleaner from halfords. It takes jeans dye transfer off very easily and smells very normal. Just wipe on with a clean cloth (value dish cloth from tesco is fine) and it will be good as new. I did scuff my leather mind and took the colour out of it, but got some scuffmaster made up by gliptone and applied this and you would never know it had happened, so bear this in mind if you need some. I just sent them the head rest and it was back withinn 48hrs, great service.I wear jeans or navy standard issue work utility trousers all the time and leather is still good as new.Hope this helps.
