Question Delivered to port, now awaiting shipping vessel?

My car was delivered to NY port on 6/26/05 8:00

I called the 800 status # and it said it is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel.

My question is:
Is it waiting to be shipped to a VPC or is it waiting to be shipped to my dealer?

I was under the impression they have a VPC at the NY/NJ port, so I'm hoping for the latter.

My second question is:
Also what is the likelihood it will by in Richmond VA (my dealer) by 7/9/05.

Not highly likely, unfortunately. My 330i arrived on 6/19 in Jersey City NJ and I'm still waiting. Hopefully it'll be here this week.

No, sorry. You're looking at the very least another 1.5-2 weeks yet until it just reaches your dealer. Then who knows how long they'll decide to keep it. It should only take 1 day to make the final preps, etc, but mine stayed at the dealer for about 6 days until I actually got to drive it home.

itznin - Your dealer should know the trucking schedule by now, or very shortly. Based on the experience of others on this forum, you have a good chance of pickup by 7/9. The OC and 800 number information is very inaccurate. Talk to the dealer. Also, if your car was built to your order, it should have priority 1, which puts it ahead of others.
