Business Nav & Prof. Nav

I'm sure I've read somewhere that its possible to upgrade a business nav to professional spec......is that right?

If so, how??!!!

The other thing is, does anyone know whether it will work with the new nav system or indeed what the spec. of the new business nav will be??

If not I suppose I will have to talk to the dealership!!! Oh, the shame...!!!

I'm not sure you can upgrade (certainly not easily) as it's a different screen on the dash.

I suppose anything's possible if you spend enough but it would be a big job because so much is different, not least the screen, as Roger says.

For 2,700 euros you can hire someone to sit next to you and mapread! They could even wash your car when they are not in use.

Chrisbin, just sell your beloved weekend drive and buy a nearly new M3 with pro nav. Simple.

Sacrilege - How dare I even suggest selling your pride and joy.

Anyhow for that money, you could get someone to map read, wash the car and wash YOU.

Buisness nav to prof can be done for around £800 in parts and then you can sell the business for around £300.

Not sure what the score is on the new nav though, and it will be a long time before they start to crop up on ebay for decent prices.

Why are you asking?? I can be more specific if I know where your coming from.

Hi mate!

just wondering if I can save the pennies by specc'ing Business rather than prof nav on the new one.....but on your sums its about the same...so only worth doing if sourcing a pre-owned car that hasn't got it fitted....

I charge for people to wash me. Then again, I don't get much business.

On the new system there are 3 levels, business prof and extended it sounded like from the press release.
Whether that is the same for the UK I don't know, the dealers have the brochures now so triple check before ordering anything.

Depends, a quick lathering is ok but a good work out including massage and oils, we're into detailing territory.

New Nav screen is 8.8" and the brochures are in the dealers today. I always thought the bigger the better

Also been told mine should be here in 17-21 days

Now thats thinking outside thre box!

Actually, I have Bus Nav on my '55. Is the only difference the screen size, maps and POI? Will I get any new features if I get a new disc or are there any cool tips for it?

Don't worry, will do! I have my Canon 400D and 24-105 EF L zoom lens all ready. Dealer confirmed today that they had paid for it (to BMW) and that it is on its way soon. I saw some interesting specs: the 330D manual is the fastest 3 series manual to get from 55 to 75mph in 4th - 4.8secs, the 335i does it in 5.3 .

I would be seriously tempted with a 330d manual, sounds an awesome combo of power and economy.
