e90post Track Day 2 (Sun 9th November)

http://www.trackdays.co.uk/book/book...spx?event=2634

Following the successful track day yesterday, I thought id post up the next track day

Its on the 9th November and its a Sunday. Its very cheap at £119 and its an open pit lane, which means, you can be on and off the track as you wish.

I have pants specially made with a super reinforced crotch/gusset area - this allows me to cross and uncross at will without any unfortunate and painful rubbing or chafing!!!

Yes mate you too even if you are mental on the track

I spoke with Evolve on friday whilst at Snetterton as I was well and truly p@ssed off with the cars limp mode antics. The guys were apologetic and helpful and have agreed to take a look at the map with a view to decreasing the torque slightly but I'm still undecided I've had the last 6 cars remapped by various tuners and never had an issue before so its taken the shine off it a little, the biggest issue for me is the fact they are based in Luton which is over 200 mile round trip for me, not just the cost of the fuel to consider but also the inconvenience, I appreciate things can go wrong from time to time but my doubts are not helped by the issues surrounding Baileys 335i which also went into limp on the day

It's a real pain as when the car is running its fantastic

I can understand your annoyance. Could Evolve not meet you somewhere closer to home?

I'm going to give them another call as the thing that attracted me to them was the promise of great customer service, I'm thinking the least they could do would be to cover my expenses, I'll let you know how I get on.

Martin - I will call you tomorrow to see what we can work out.

Re Steves' car - it has been well reported that standard non-Sport 335i's with AT have been going into limp mode on track days because of the lack/inadequacy of the oil cooler. We did suggest to Steve at the time that if he was going to do a lot of track days and oil cooler and intercooler would be the next mods to carry out.

When it the ECU sees 300 it puts the car into limp mode to protect itself. This happened to a test car for a magazine review over there which must have been quote embarrasing.

In the US this spec car have gone into limp mode in the desert areas of the country whilst being driven normally.

Have a look at this thread
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=165670

The AMG is fine, its booked in for an A service and new brake fluid etc.

The decision for my next car is still doing my tits in though. Id love the 63 but taking into account how cheap M5/6s are they are looking mighty tempting.

btw have i mentioned how good friday night was
