Changing to an A4
Never thought I'd be saying this but I'm about to swap my 320d for an Audi A4. Was about to place my order for the facelifted 3 series until, out of pure curiosity, I test drove an A4. Was surprised by how well it drove but didn't like the interior at all - until I got back into my car.
I'm basing my decision on the quality and spaciousness of the interior, it's a decent drive, and the 320d never felt special. Still love the BMW brand and have all the usual preconceptions about Audi drivers but I felt like taking a risk (on a 2 year lease, just in case). |

Driving enjoyment is better with the Beemer, but with the amounts of faults I have had with this (compared to one in two years with the Audi) and appalling dealer service, I would not hesitate to choose Audi again. |

Strangely enough, I just booked a test-drive of an A5. But my BMW guy just gave me a look at the new iDrive setup and the much cleaner looking satnav, so will hold off for two weeks until I can try the new 330d engine which is quite a bit quicker than my current one.

I'm just about to pick-up my 320d Touring 'Edition' M Sport.
It's a company car and with the extra's it worked out cheaper than an Audi Avant Sline 2.0 TDI, regarding tax. However, I'm moving from an 05 Audi A4 SE 2.0 TDI, it was a great car but the remote central locking kept playing up, also in the end the auto gear-box packed up. I miss it at the mo cos I'm in a basic 'Passat'! My local Audi dealer got better with age, but the local BM dealer has a 'Great' reputation I'm looking forward to the BM I hope You are pleased with our 'Audi'.

same here - 10 years of Audi with only 1 fault - so far up to 5 issues on the 1 year with the 335. PITA. |

I had a Golf with the 2.0 TDi engine, which is a better engine over the 163 BHP BMW lump, but the 177 BHP engine from BMW is in a different league IMHO, I've had a couple of Audi's and have to say the dealers let them down.

I have just come from Audi, 3 years with an A6 and 2 years before that with an A4.
I test drove an A4 before ordering the 320d, the tax was higher than the 320 and I think I was just after a change. Dealers are dealers, there are good ones and bad ones...... Enjoy your new car.

Enjoy your new car
I don't get the Audi thing personally but then again I really don't like cars which are driven from the front, doesn't seem balanced right to me but everyone is different and lots must like FWD or there wouldn't be so many manufacturers who made cars that way, most important thing is that you enjoy your car though!!
