Should I go for it???
Loved my 2006 325i but it was totalled - entirely not my fault. Now fallen in love with a 2008 335i titanium silver and given a very good deal. I'm now concerned after reading about the fuel pump issue. Does anyone know if this problem was fixed for the late 2008 production or new 2009? Any fellow late 2008 Canadian owners please respond with your experience. The offer expires COB September 8. Should I go for it? Thanks in advance.
PS. Does anyone have information if BMW already has a handle on the problem? I don't want multiple trips back to the dealer. |

I have a '08 E92 (March build date) and no problem with fuel pump yet. I think most fuel pump problems were for '07 models from what I have read.
(Rule of thumb : Never buy a totally new model car the first year it comes out. They all have some sort of kink that will be worked out with the second generation). Good Luck Last edited by Tondtar; 09-07-2008 at 06:06 PM.. |

If you're after the deal and don't mind the few new additions to the 09 model then I'll have to say definitely go for it if you can afford it. Also check the Canadian forum here for more info about the fuel pump. Good luck.

I guess according to this, you should get the 08, cause the 09 might have some kinks |

05/08 Build and i have the long crank issue. Didnt get it replced YET but i think slight problem is there. WAiting to get worse before bringing it in.
If you;re getting a new car, i dont think there is anythign to worry bout since MOST/ALL cars can have problems and some might not have any single problem. All bout luck i guess. And you got the 50k warranty that will cover for pretty much all pump issues.

Don't worry about it. I took mine to the dealer when it had hesitant starts in the beginning. It took several attempts but was finally taken care of. The 335i is a totally different car over the 328i.
IMO, definitely worth the headache of the HPFP problem and extra price to get the 335i. GO FOR IT!
