My car feels faster!!!
My car is almost 2 months with 2500 miles. I've never really opened up the throttle on it before . Maybe fast take offs to 30-40mph , but last night after work at about 4:30 am . The highway was very quite . Not many cars and no road work. So I decided to gun it from the on ramp to 80mph. Wow! that was nice. So I'm cruising at about 80mph, and Still no cars around I decided to gun it again but from 80 to 100mph. OMG that was quick. Now today on my way to work driving through the city my car feels faster. With light pressure on the gas pedal just like how I was driving during break in the car feels alot faster. I dont think its my mind playing tricks on me, I really think it got faster after the WOTs last night. Must've cleared up something in the lines. I dont know I'm not a mech. what do you guys think.

If you have an AT, it is likely that the shifting profile adjusted to a sportier profile in response to your more lively driving. If you go back to a more sedate driving style, it should eventually revert back to a more conservative profile.

The ECU has adapted to your driving style. It's natural for the car to feel that way after more spirited driving. Unfortunately, if you drive this way all the time, you'll get used to it and the car will begin to feel slow to you...but in actuality there is really no change.

I dont plan on driving like that all the time, I just wanted to feel what all the hype is about. I had an e46 330ci when I was younger about 9 years ago and it got me in trouble all the time. 3 speeding tickets within a month. skyrocketing Ins premiums. I think I've passed that stage already. I just wanted to push the new car for the first time. give it some exercise you know.

Reminds me of my mechanic friend saying you need to push you engine once in a while, or at least the car he just finished wrenching, so you can "blow out the soft carbon deposits."

While I don't have a BMW but my first car which I have now, was bought used with 25k miles and it was previously owned by a family with kids so the car probably never seen above 2k-2.5k RPMs.
After I got the car and use to driving it I did redline it once in a while and I noticed that after that I got better MPGs when I drive normally.

+1 I was going to say the same thing. Cooler air going in, also no use of A/C.

not yet. I almost got the SSTT but decided to wait until my warranty is almost over. I dont want to F- up my warranty. I f-ed up my first bimmer when I raced it a month after i took it off the show room floor. BMWNA paid for half though. I might not get lucky this time around. So i'm being extra careful. Its very tempting though with the ease of tuning and possibilties with the 335s. I just have to stay away from this forum.
