180001 DME Code

Hey all,
I have been chasing down a boost leak recently (120308) and so I swapped my CTS CP for a VRSF one. I was checking my DME codes yesterday and noticed I had an 180001 DME code. From what I can tell it only comes on when the boost leak is present which is at high RPMs.

For mods I have:
- MHD Stage 1 OTS Map
- VRSF CP
- Panel air filter

From the reading I have don't it is a MAP sensor, O2 sensor or my Cat.

Any suggestions?

What made you think you had a boost leak? Did you physically test or infer from logs? If logs, post those where you think there is a boost leak.

Is your cat monitor in the ready state?

That's all you are going off of to assume boost leak? What made you think it was high RPM as indicated in your OP?

If you clear the code does it come back immediately?

You need to get some logs, or pressure test, or both. With so little information/data, we can only guess what the issue might be.

Also the sequence of events isnt clear. You installed CTS CP, then got the drive moderately message and indciated error code? Then you swapped to VRSF and got the same thing? Did you verify your orings? Made sure to teflon tape and tighten the bung plugs in the CP?

Ok so here's some specifics
- The drive moderately comes on at high RPMs only
- It comes on every time I clear it (and drive into high RPMs)
- When pilling up the DME history is 120308 and 180001
- I did a smoke test and I know it's coming from the CP to IC connection. I am waiting on new o rings
- I am asking more specifically about diagnosing the 180001 not the 120308

Well given that you know you have a leak, i would not worry about trying to diagnose further until you fix that and see if the code remains... The leak is very likely letting out metered air under boost causing the car to run a bit rich (althogh STFT will work to correct). Hard to know exactly how big the impact of the leak is without seeing a log, but that impact on AFR could be impacting cat efficiency.
