E92 climate control/fan issues (2 problems)

Having a couple problem areas with my car, wondering if I could get some input

1.) There seems to be a light rattling inside the dash area when I have the fan on. Air comes out fine and it's only audible when fan is low, so it's not super loud or anything. There was 1 time I tried to turn it on and the light indicator worked but no fan turned on. But this has only happened that one time. Is the blower motor or fan loose or going out? Anyway to troubleshoot?

2.) I'm getting a damp musty smell from the vents but only for a minute after I turn off a/c. Running just then fan or running a/c has no smell. Literally only happens for that short period after turning a/c off but leaving fan running

Last year I had to have my '09 e91's HVAC rebuilt. The evaporator was deemed beyond repair, so my indy replaced it. After that work, the musty smell never returned. I don't have it handy -- the service writer sent me a picture of the old evaporator, the majority of which was covered in mold.
