strange oil filter conundrum

I have sitting on my desk an original BMW oil filter 11 42 7 953 129. Supposedly for N52 various larger variants

I also have next to it a Bosch P9269 equivalent to BMW 11 42 7 541 827, supposedly for N52 525i

And they are absolutely identical. Bit weird?

Same filter just new revision as per Realoem.com

11 42 7 953 129 is the latest version. I would use that one.
