Need help to find a part number
I'm kinda ashamed to ask but I just can't find it! I looked in the hood related area diagrams, core support area, light arm diagram, light diagram and it's not there at all. I've found these 2 but they do not seem to be the same, stop buffer 51237162448 and bump stop 51238247699. I just want to know if they are hood bump stops but on the engine bay, so basically just looking at what the name of that part is, because I am missing the "bump" stops in the hood but I suspect the ones in the hood aren't adjustable anyways. |

Those parts looks to be part of the hood assembly, not the lower area... I was about to guess the same thing but the part it goes into looks different.
It should be coming out of #1 on this https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=51_5858 Might be a revision or an IS thing. Last edited by freakystyly; 05-21-2020 at 11:57 AM.. |

But thanks that does look like it. On your car is that up in the hood or installed on the bottom? |

I'm not sure why but that hole looks empty on the diagram. I think it's an error.
I just checked on my 06 and it is in the lower spot like yours is. lookalikehuuh has the correct part I believe. |

Only thing I can guess on how I have that part is that they used that instead of the bump stops in the hood (51237162448) for what ever reason. |

The parts probably have been revised. 51237162448 is the latest version of the hood bump stop. There are 3 of them. My 06 originally had 4 hood bump stops in the hood. The new parts go in different holes in the hood.
