Foam Guns?
Hi All,
Can anyone recommend a foam gun, and the best shampoo to accompany it? Gilmour and chemical guys seem to pop up regularly? Just curious if anyone has any experience or advice with these? Thanks Dave |

I bought an Autobrite foam lance earlier this year. Works a treat and I'm still only 1/3 of the way through the 5 litres of snowfoam.

Ive just ordered the Autobrite foam lance, with 5ltrs of Super Snow Foam, £61.50 inc delivery.
The guy at Autobrite was really helpful, and suggested I upgrade my rather basic karcher pressure washer to get the best out of the foam lance, to a mid range karcher, the K399M. Found it on offer with screwfix for £89, delivered FOC tomorrow. Retail elsewhere is around £150+ for this unit. So, have I reached the age where I actually get excited about cleaning cars, and buying things which shoot foam out? Thanks for the help! |

http://www.amazon.co.uk/K%C3%84RCHER.../dp/B00066WGTQ It works really well the Autobrite foam lance and has plenty of power. You just need about an inch of snow foam in the bottom of the bottle, topped off with warm water. I do the following: 1. Snowfoam the car 2. Drink nice cup of tea while it drips off. 3. Rinse 4. Snowfoam again. 5. Wipe down entire car with a washmit. 6. Rinse. Does a great job ! Some photo's after washing and applying Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection: I just booked in for a full detail later this week to try and deal with minor swirl marks! |

You answered my next question, the best way to use them! Thanks....
I take it you still rinse the mitt in clean water between panels? What about adding any other cleaning agent/shampoo to the bottle? I read somewhere chemical guys was a favourite, or do you think its unecessary? Out of curiosity, how much are you paying for the detail, as I have light swirls too? Ill take a look at the at that Blackfire? Your finish looks great! |

I got one with my Kew pressure washer and TBH can't really see the point of them, yes they cover your car in lot's of foam, but you still need to use a sponge to remove anything other than very very light dirt, so you might just as well have suds in a bucket IMO

I haven't tried adding anything either. To be honest there is loads of foam and it last for ages, so maybe no need. Quote:

I got mine from here: http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/cgi-b...ml%23aBF3#aBF3 I tend to go with Assam tea, but Tetley also works. The longer you leave the foam the better so if you want to sneak in a cheeky hobnob it's not a problem. |
