How many of you bought the OEM Car Alarm for your E90X?

How many of you bought the OEM car alarm? Is it worth it? Do you need it? I heard that the car can not be stolen or hot wired because the chip inside the key fob is not present. Is that true?

Any car can be stolen if the criminal wants it badly enough. In California, who pays any attention to alarms anyway????

Having said that, I ordered the alarm (port installed) for my E90, mainly because I wanted the audible feedback when locking/unlocking and the clown nose indicator when locked.

i didnt get it in my 08. they were charging a lot. i doubt anyone would steal a bmw. even thiugh ive seen some ppl post on here that there car was broken into to or stolen.
