M sport brakes cost that much?

I was in today at local BMW center talking to the parts guy, he said the M Sport Brakes to piece together for MY20 430i would costs a lot more than the M Performance Brakes kit

So he just quoted me for MPBK (part# 34112450468) for 2,490 just parts/kit only.. labor would be an additional cost.

I think he said getting the M Sport brakes would have been upwards of 4,000 or something, WHAT?! I checked realoem to get part# and checked several places online to see what it would cost and tally it around 3,746?!

Front:
Disc Brake Caliper (L) - BMW (34-11-6-799-465)
Disc Brake Caliper (R) - BMW (34-11-6-799-466)
Replacement Front Brake Disc (340x30) - ventilated - BMW (34-10-6-797-602)

Back:
Caliper (L) - BMW (34-21-6-799-461)
Caliper (R) - BMW (34-21-6-799-462)
F2x 2 Series, F3x 3 & 4 Series M Performance Rear Brake Rotor - BMW (34-20-6-797-600)

Jeez, might as well go for the MPBK than MSB

It's the same calipers, pads, and rotors for Msport (blue 370mm) and Mperformance. Even the 340mm (Msport blue for 20i, 28i and 30i cars) uses the same pad, as it's the very same caliper but with a shorter mount. The mounts/bracket and calipers are one piece. Do a search and don't buy from the dealer.

Its a lot cheaper to buy the calipers used and rebuild them for under $15 with new rubber seals. You might need to put new paint or not. Rotors are cheaper to buy online with free shipping for the front and rear (zimmerman or stoptech if you want dimpled and slotted)

Also rockauto will be your friend when looking for pads/hardware kits/rotors if you decide to do the conversion. Calipers are the most expensive part.

Some of the online places sell the kit. It costs a lot less than the parts, but if you need to change anything (i.e. blank vs. dimple/slotted rotors), it ends up at about the same.

The last time I purchased from Rockauto, I needed to return something. Their abysmal customer service made that the last time I ever will purchase from them.

I find it's often better to pay a little more and get support when there's a problem. This is especially true when you're not sure if what you're ordering is what you actually need.

The m performance bbk sucks(in my opinion). The brake pedal always feels soft. I ended up selling them and went to stoptech.

Not the caliper's fault. You more than likely had air in your lines or the wrong coding for abs. Especially if your car is not the i6 335 or 340. Those are already coded for those calipers.

If you have the grey front brembos, you can just buy a used set of the the rear calipers and powdercoat everything to match. The front and rear rotors are slightly different sizes, but it's not noticeable at all.

There used to be someone who sold the used m sport calipers on here all the time. That's who I ended up buying the rears from (my car came with the grey front brembos). Check the classifieds section.

I have a 435 and I performed the bbk coding via ista. I'm a dealer tech. I originally thought air as well. I probably bled those brakes 40 times using different methods.
