I want one. Bonnets can be ruined by stones. Take my advice and get one.

I looked at this and the clear-film myself but decided against both.
The link above doesn't seem to work but if it's the sort I'm thinking of (attaches with straps) then I'd avoid it - they might save stone chips but dirt and grit will still get between the edge of the bra and your paint and would just make a mess of it anyway. Either go the clear route (and accept the fact that you will see the damage to the film when it gets chipped) or alternatively set aside a few ££'s each month and have the front end sprayed every few years. Just my tuppence

I think the clear stuff dont look that good. The bra looks good if colour coded.

Each to their own - I just have my reservations about the car bras for the reasons mentioned.

You will look a right tit driving around in a new car with a bra on. An E type, Karman Ghia, etc OK but a new BMW will look stupid.

Paint Protective Film ?
I have just handed the keys of the 335D over to the wife for use as her opt out company vehicle so the car will do approx 15,000 miles per year on the motorway.
I'd like to protect the front end from the inevitable stone chips so wondered if anyone has any experience with any of the protective coatings on offer and approx price ? Thanks Guys..

Have you costed the protective coating (or clear bra) against the cost of a quality bonnet respray when it gets bad enough?
That's what I intend to do. |
