How to tell if have original BMW springs
I'm in the process of making a 2006 330i comfortable and ready for regular driving and noticed that the ride was a bit bumpy compared to the normal BMW sports suspension that I'm used to. The rear has the original BMW struts on it so i'm thinking of replacing with the OE equivalent, Sachs.
The front shocks/ struts on other hand, are an undetermined brand, "Made in china" 753232 N15 381 with no branding on them. I spent several hours looking up these model numbers without any success. They don't handle bumps as well as the BMW original ones so i plan on replacing them too but I am not sure if the previous owner(s) replaced them along with the springs or if they just changed the strut. Is there any way to tell if the stock springs are on it? I see a bit of a washed out bar code on the springs but cannot read the label. |

A white label on each front spring, with a barcode and a code such as 'C3' or 'D3’ etc, sounds like OE springs. Off the top of my head, I think your car would have C2 or C3 front springs assuming E90 and non-sport suspension. Or D2 or D3 if it's got sport suspension (and E90).
